Celebrating Women’s Day with a Step towards Menstrual Equity

On 8th March 2025, as the world commemorated International Women’s Day, Msichana Uganda marked the occasion with a milestone moment for menstrual health and dignity in Uganda.

We were honored to receive reusable sanitary pad machinery and equipment, generously donated by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).

The handover ceremony was graced by Mr. Murat Çetin, the Country Director of TİKA, and officiated by H.E. Fatih Ak, the Ambassador of Turkey to Uganda.

This donation goes beyond machines—it is an investment in sustainable solutions to end period poverty. With this equipment, Msichana Uganda will be able to scale the production of affordable, eco-friendly, and reusable sanitary pads, ensuring more girls and women across Uganda can access menstrual products with dignity.

“Access to menstrual products is a right, not a privilege. This support brings us closer to a Uganda where no girl misses school or opportunity because of her period,” said Msichana Uganda at the event.

As we continue to champion menstrual equity, this partnership highlights the power of collaboration in creating a period-friendly world.

Together, we are building a future where every girl and woman can manage her period with confidence, comfort, and pride.
