Our name is derived from the Kiswahili word for girl, "Msichana," our organization embodies the essence of nurturing and fostering the potential of every girl child across Uganda. While commendable strides have been made by the Government of Uganda in enhancing access to healthcare, education, and vocational skills, we understand that many girls still face formidable challenges on their path to success.

At Msichana Uganda, we are driven by the belief that empowerment begins with capacity building. Through a multifaceted approach encompassing training, exposure, hands-on skills development, and career guidance, we endeavour to reshape the narrative surrounding the development of girls, young women, and women in Uganda.

As we equip them with the tools and resources they need to thrive, we aspire to cultivate a generation of empowered ambassadors poised to drive positive change within their communities and beyond. Moreover, we recognize the importance of fostering mentorship and leadership among female professionals and leaders.

Through collaborative efforts and mentorship programs, we aim to provide a roadmap for young girls to aspire to greatness, fostering a culture of ambition and achievement. Msichana Uganda stands as a beacon of hope, dedicated to championing capacity-building initiatives that pave the way for the next generation of empowered young women.

The vision of Msichana Uganda first took root in late 2017, born from a deep-seated commitment to championing the rights and empowerment of girls, young women, and women in Uganda. Fuelled by passion and a desire for meaningful change, our journey began with a simple yet powerful idea: to create a platform where the voices of girls and women could be heard and valued.

After meticulous planning and groundwork, we took a significant step forward with our formal registration as a corporate entity on January 4, 2018, marking the official commencement of our mission. Since then, we have been unwavering in our dedication to empowering girls and women through capacity-building initiatives, advocacy, and mentorship programs, laying the foundation for a brighter, more inclusive future for all.
