Marking Menstrual Hygiene Day 28th May 2025 in Wabigalo Parish

On 28th May – Menstrual Hygiene Day, Msichana Uganda partnered with WEZESHA Community Development Hub to bring menstrual dignity closer to home for girls and women in Wabigalo Parish. Together, we reached the Central Zone, Project Zone, Industrial View Zone, and Kalina Zone, distributing reusable sanitary pads and engaging communities in open conversations about menstrual health.

For many of the girls we met, this was more than receiving a pad—it was receiving a chance to stay in school with confidence. One young girl shared:

“Now I don’t have to miss class because I lack pads. I feel safe knowing I can use these for a long time.”

Mothers, too, expressed relief that their daughters would not have to struggle through the same challenges they faced growing up. These voices remind us that menstrual equity is not an abstract goal—it is a lived reality that transforms education, dignity, and opportunity.

At Msichana Uganda, we stand firm in the belief that:
📌 Access to menstrual products is a right, not a privilege.

This Menstrual Hygiene Day was a powerful step forward, but also a call to action. Together, let us continue breaking the silence, raising awareness, and building a period-friendly world where every person who menstruates can do so with confidence, comfort, and pride.
